A perfect blend of monster and comedy.

When bloodsucking tentacled aliens begin to prey upon the inhabitants of a small island off the coast of Ireland they soon discover that their only defence is to get absolutely plastered.

Considering the small budget they were working with, the Grabbers look pretty damn good. The characters are lovable and are comprised of almost every Irish stereotype imaginable but the movie treats these stereotypes with love. I mean, the way to defeat the aliens is alcohol for feck's sake. There's a pub scene near the climax that will make you wish you were there too. A very comfy (I love a movie where almost everyone is wearing a knit sweater), and charming movie that maybe you shouldn't watch if your trying to avoid the drink.

So grab a pint, relax, and enjoy this comfy monster flick.

Why you should watch:

  • It's a fun and charming monster movie with a great location.

  • The premise is pretty unique.

  • It manages to be consistently funny.

Why you shouldn't watch:

  •  You're trying to avoid alcohol (this movie will make you want a beer).

  • You have a hard time understanding Irish accents and refuse to use subtitles.
