Clovis the Attack Cat saves the day in this weird vision from Stephen King.

Our story begins when we meet Charles Brady (Brian Krause) and his mommy/lover Mary (Alice Krige). They are energy vampire bipedal werecats. Yes, you read that right. Their greatest weakness? Felis Catus also known as cute little kitty cats. Living a nomadic life, the two end up in the small Indiana town of Travis.

Mother and son share a 'romantic' moment...

In Travis, Charles meets Tanya Robertson (Mädchen Amick) who quickly becomes the vampire bipedal werecat's next target. You see, Charles and his mommy's favourite meal is the lifeforce of virginal young women. He also runs awry of the town's Deputy Sheriff, Andy Simpson (Dan Martin), and his loyal attack cat: Clovis (Sparks). Will Clovis save the stupid humans of Travis, Indiana? Find out in: Sleepwalkers!

Clovis will have his revenge!

This movie is a real oddity, and it's the first story written for the screen by Mr. King. It's got that kind of small-town weirdness so often seen in the King-a-verse. Come for the incestuous energy vampires; stay for the army of kitties. It's nice to see cats as the heroes in a horror movie for once. The movie looks great, and it's probably director Mick Garris's best work. There are also some decent gore effects, and the design of the energy vampire bipedal werecats ain't half had.

So, if you're in the mood for some Stephen King weirdness, check out Sleepwalkers. Unless you're a dog person, I suppose.

Bonus: Keep your eyes peeled for the cameos from Mark Hamill, Clive Barker, John Landis, Joe Dante, and of course, Mr. King himself.

The man, the myth, the legend.
