When Sgt. Joe Bomowski's (Sylvester Stallone) mother, Tutti (Estelle Getty) comes to visit she wastes no time to start meddling in his life. Estelle Getty washes a gun like it's a dirty dish and it's probably the most amusing scene in the movie. Amusing might be pushing it. This movie is groans-ville and embarrassing for its main star. Stallone calls this the worst movie he's ever done. Considering his filmography, that statement might be a little hyperbolic. Or maybe too many Golden Girls re-runs have melted my brain. Either way, Estelle Getty has her moments and you might find enjoyment in seeing Stallone get humiliated. But at the end of the day, it's a perfect example of what RedLetterMedia calls a "non-medy". I can barely remember what happened and I just watched it.
My favourite thing about this movie is the behind-the-scenes story in that Arnold Schwarzenegger pretended to be interested in the project therefore tricking Stallone into taking the role. Might be one of the most devious pranks I've ever heard of.
So, if you're interested in seeing Stallone embarrass himself for 87 minutes, give this a look.
