Mimi's Rating: 4 Axolotls out of 5

An atmospheric and moody australian horror story.

Normally I would give a more in-depth breakdown of the film, but it's best to go into this one as uninformed as possible.

The premise of this film is simple enough (a group of teens discover that an embalmed hand allows them to contact spirits) but it excels at creating an eerie atmosphere throughout. Great performances from the entire cast with a stand-out performance from Sophie Wilde as Mia. The film has enough symbolism and a deeper meaning to give you something to chew on when it's over (the ending is memorable as well).

Why you should watch:

  • Great atmosphere and spooky vibes.

  • Wonderful make-up.

  • Performances from the entire cast are top-notch.

  • You like a film that gives you a little something to think about afterwards.

Why you shouldn't watch:

  • You don't like stories that involve suicide.

  • You don't like to see violence against children.
