A moody gothic fairy-tale for all ages.
When Sayuri Nanjo is reunited with her estranged family after years spent apart she couldn't be happier, but strange things begin to happen as soon as she arrives home. Her mother is an amnesiac and keeps calling her "Tamami" and her father is doing strange experiments with venomous snakes in the basement. When her father leaves for a work trip to Africa the strangeness begins to ramp up. Will Sayuri find out the truth behind her mysterious family? Find out in: The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch!
This movie plays out like a fable with its beautiful black-and-white cinematography and psychedelic dream sequences. It's imaginatively shot throughout and successfully sets its oppressive and creepy mood. Yachie Matsui did a great job as Sayuri Nanjo and was very adorable.
